10:11 pm - Why is it
everyone seems to get prolific when I can't check LJ for 2 days?
Based on everything I have to get done, I doubt I will get caught up on my LJ, if you really want me to see something, please let me know and I'll take a look.
Yesterday was the travel day from hell. I started the night before with Delta calling me to tell me one of my return flights had been cancelled (24 hours in advance...) and they'd rebooked me out of BWI... through Cincinatti? So, day started with with my alarm at 4:00, got to the airport and got my coffee and muffin. The flight was thankfully uneventful. Got my boarding passes for the return trip and then got my car for the drive down to Lanham. At the end of my day of meetings the Lead Architect looked at me and said, "Well, we have a lot of things to do now." My reply was, "Don't you always after I've come down?" He looked a little sheepish, but agreed that yes that was the case. On my drive back to BWI I got caught in traffic and was seriously worried about catching the flight. I made it to the plane just fine but then we sat at the gate for 35 minutes past depature while they 'counted the bags on the plane for the paperwork". I kid you not, the computer was having errors so they had to hand count the bags and rather than doing so as they were loading them, the did so after loading them. This meant that I had to run across the terminal to get to my next flight and got no dinner. I got home safely and that's the important part.
Tomorrow I will have a short day I hope cause I need to pack for my conference. We leave Saturday and return the next week. I'm looking forward to it as it will be a sort of vacation. I will definitely be in with the big fish though. I've been invited to the specialty suite at the expo reserved for 'reference clients', I have an all day session on Sunday with Senior Developers from IBM and on Thursday morning I'm having breakfast with another group of Senior Developers. I'm really quite excited about this trip.
Well, I'm off to get stuff together.
